3. 95% of farmers agree to pre-shipment inspection system of Hallabong
Local farmers hope to sell high-quality products at higher prices

A survey found most Hallabong farmers in favor of the pre-shipment inspection system.

Seogwipo Municipal Office conducted a survey on 211 Hallabong farmers from September 9th to 23rd and found that 95 percent of the respondents were in favor of inspecting the fruits which will be shipped off before December 31st.

The farmers responded that they want to discard substandard fruits to sell high quality products at higher market prices.

Seogwipo Municipal Office plans to implement related policies based on the results of the survey.

한라봉 재배농가 대부분이
사전 출하 검사제에 찬성하는 것으로 조사됐습니다.

서귀포시가 지난 9일부터 23일까지
한라봉 농가 211명을 대상으로
설문조사를 실시한 결과
95%에 달하는 190명이
12월 31일 이전에 출하하는 한라봉을
사전 검사할 필요가 있다고 답했습니다.

검사가 필요한 이유로는
상품성이 낮은 한라봉을 사전에 차단해
전체적인 판매가 상승을 기대할 수 있기
때문인 것으로 조사됐습니다.

서귀포시는 이번 조사 결과를 바탕으로
관련 정책을 시행해나갈 예정입니다.
