Local government to focus on EV charging services

The province has decided to re-apply for the Electric Vehicle special zone project by revising its plan to focus on specializing in EV charging services.

Since the Ministry of SMEs and Startups excluded Jeju from the list of candidate regions for the EV special zone project, local officials drastically revised the plan and decided to take a different approach.

The revised plan includes providing mobile EV charging services, creating platforms to share charging infrastructure and upgrading infrastructure to reduce charging time.

The province will submit its final plan to Seoul on October 11th after collecting islander’s opinions by October 7th.

제주도가 전기차 규제자유특구 재지정을 위해
충전서비스분야를 특화하는 방향으로 전략을 수정했습니다.

제주도는 정부의 전기차 규제자유특구 지정 1차 협의 대상에서
제외되면서 전기차충전 서비스 분야를 특화하는 것으로
계획을 대폭 수정했습니다.

전기차 충전서비스특구 계획안에는 충전시간 단축을 위한
인프라 고도화 외 이동형 충전 서비스, 충전 인프라 공유 플랫폼 등이
포함될 예정입니다.

제주도는 오는 7일까지 도민 의견 수렴을 거쳐
오는 11일 최종계획안을 정부에 제출할 예정입니다.
