5. Jeju to host IUMRS-ICA 2021
Event to bring more than 2,000 experts and potential tourists to Jeju

Jeju Island will host the International Union of Materials Research Society-International Conference in Asia 2021.

The international conference will bring together more than 2,000 experts in material engineering from the Asia-Pacific region in October 2021.

Participants will be invited to stay in Jeju for five days and hold meetings, go on tours and shopping, all of which are expected to attract high-value tourists.

As of this August, the province has attracted 113 International MICE events, which is 62 percent of the target number.

제주도가 오는 2021년 국제재료학회 아시아 국제학술대회를 유치했습니다.

2021년 10월 열리는 이번 국제학술대회에는
아시아 태평양 지역 재료공학 전문가 2천여 명이 참가합니다.

이들은 5일 동안 제주에 머물며
회의를 비롯해 관광과 쇼핑 등을 진행할 예정이어서
고부가가치 관광객 유치 효과가 기대됩니다.

올들어 지난 8월까지
국제 MICE행사 유치 실적은 113건으로
목표의 62% 수준을 보이고 있습니다.
