Officials accused of concealing ADPi report

Lawmaker Chung Dong-young demanded an official apology from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for deliberately concealing a report from the French engineering company ADPi. The report contains a viable expansion plan for the Jeju International Airport.

During a parliamentary audit of the Jeju provincial government on Tuesday, Representative Chung said that the Land Ministry concealed and disregarded ADPi’s study.

He argued that the Minister must officially apologize to the National Assembly and islanders.

In response, Kwon Yong-bok, head of the Land Ministry's aviation policy department, explained that the disclosure of the report was delayed due to problems with ADPi and the research team.

국토부가 파리공항공단 Adpi 용역보고서를
고의적으로 은폐했다며 이에 대한
공식 사과를 요구했습니다.

정 의원은
8일 열린
제주도청에 대한 국정감사에서
제주공항 활용방안을 담은
Adpi 보고서가 지난 2015년 작성됐지만
국토부는 폐기됐다는 이유로
이후 3년 반 동안 보고서를 공개하지 않았다고
밝혔습니다.

이는 명백한 허위로 드러났다며
국토부장관은 국회와 도민사회에
정식으로 사과해야 한다고 주장했습니다.

이에대해 권용복 국토부 항공정책실장은
파리공항공단과 용역사간의 문제로
공개가 늦어졌을 뿐 고의로 은폐하지
않았다고 해명했습니다.
