4. Province moves to stem infectious diseases
Jeju has higher than average rates of chickenpox, other illnesses

The province has set six infectious diseases for intensive control next year.

The list includes chickenpox and syphilis, which affect islanders at a rate higher than the national average, and Ebola virus, dengue fever, mutant influenza and MERS, which likely trace back to visitors from abroad.

Jeju Island will provide information on these infectious diseases to islanders and manage outbreak and entry of the diseases.

제주도가 수두와 메르스 등 6가지 감염병을
내년 집중관리 감염병으로 지정했습니다.

이번에 지정된 집중관리 감염병은
전국에 비해 높은 발생률을 보이는 수두와 매독,
그리고, 해외에서 유입될 가능성이 있는
에볼라바이러스병과 뎅기열, 변종 인플루엔자, 메르스입니다.

제주도는
이들 감염병에 대한 정보를 도민에게 제공하고
접촉자 관리와 유입 방지를 위한 대응태세를 강화합니다.
