Additional surveillance cameras, street lights to be installed

Governor Won Hee-ryong said the provincial government will launch an integrated system to control safety blind spots next year.

It was one of his election pledges.

A total of 56 billion won will be invested for the next 3 years from 2020 through 2022 to install additional 2,400 CCTVs. Also, street lamps and security lights will be built in 6,500 locations including residential and traffic accident-prone areas.

Governor Won said he will concentrate funds and manpower for the next three years to build an infrastructure of safety facilities to dramatically improve safety for islanders and tourists.
