International Schools in Jeju owe 600 billion won in debt
The Jeju Free International City Development Center has released a statement explaining why international schools in the Jeju Global Education City have 600 billion won in debt. This issue was pointed out in a parliamentary inspection of the administration.
The JDC said that 460 billion won of the 600 billion won debt owed by the operating body of international schools known as Jeins, was used for the initial construction of the schools.
It added that Jeins repays 25 billion won of rent every year, and although Jeins is currently suffering a net loss, the size of debts will be reduced.
