4. Province to inspect local businesses for hiring illegal workers
Violations will include fines and employment permit cancellation

The provincial government will inspect companies hiring foreign workers.

The inspection will focus on agricultural and dairy industries as well as businesses suspected of hiring foreign workers illegally.

Violators will be subject to fines, and possibly even the cancellation or restriction of employment permits.

There is currently an estimated 3,300 registered foreign workers at 1,500 businesses on the island.

도내 외국인 근로자 사업장 일제 점검

제주특별자치도가
도내 외국인 근로자 사업장에 대한 일제 점검에 나섭니다.

특히 농축산업과 어업 등 취약업종과
불법고용 의심 사업장 등
20여곳을 선정해 중점 단속합니다.

적발된 사업장에 대해서는
시정 지시나 과태료 부과,
외국인고용허가 취소나 제한 등의 조치가 내려집니다.
현재 제주도내 사업장에서 근무하고 있는 외국인 근로자는
1천 500여개소에서
3천 300여명에 이르고 있습니다.
