1. Government to pursue market isolation project for halibut
200 tons of fish to be destroyed

The provincial government is pushing for a market isolation project amid growing financial difficulties in the fish industry as the price of halibut has dropped significantly.

The government plans to spend 420 million won to purchase and dispose of 200 tons of halibut from 350 suppliers in the province.

This is the first time for Jeju Island to pursue a market separation project for halibut.
