Mean age of women having a baby increases

Local birth rate has fallen to a new low.

According to the Honam Regional Statistics Office, the number of babies born in Jeju dropped 45 percent to 4,700 last year from that of 1993.

The total fertility rate is 1.22, the lowest since 1993.

Meanwhile, the average age of women having a baby in Jeju last year was 32.8, which was an increase by 4.8 years from 1993.

가장 낮은 수준입니다.

한편, 지난해 제주지역의 평균출산연령은 32.8세로
1993년과 비교해 4.8세 증가한 것으로 나타났습니다.
