There are mixed assessments of the ongoing local tourism development projects and investment promotion zones in Jeju Island.

The province analyzed the performance of 60 tourism development projects and investment promotion zones in Jeju and found the amount of input from local companies increased by 470 billion won from last year to 2.5 trillion won, as of this June.

However, the sum of financial investments was 130 billion won less than last year, and job openings fell by 4,800.

The provincial government plans to take administrative action against four tourism development projects that have low employment and do not operate some of its facilities. It will also cancel the designation of three investment promotion zones that have not begun construction and are unlikely to proceed.

제주도는 고용이 저조하거나
일부 시설을 운영하지 않는 사업장 4곳에 대해 행정처분하는 한편
사업추진이 어렵고
미착공한 3곳에 대해서는
투자진흥지구 지정을 해제할 방침입니다.
