2. Province set next year’s budget at \5.8T
Officials to inject \1.2T for social welfare

Local officials have submitted next year’s budget plan set at around 5.8 trillion won to the provincial council for approval .

This is an increase of 530 billion won from this year’s budget.

Due to the sluggish real estate market, property acquisition tax is expected to decrease. However, local consumption tax and extra income are expected to increase as the province is pushing towards fiscal decentralization.

By sector, the local government has set aside 1.26 trillion won for social welfare, which the largest amount so far, to expand basic pension and job openings for senior citizens.

In addition, the provincial government will inject 97.4 billion won for land and regional development to compensate appropriated land used for long delayed public projects. Officials will invest 26.8 billion won to install additional surveillance cameras and streetlights to enhance safety.

제주특별자치도가 내년 예산안으로
5조 8천229억원을 편성해
제주도의회에 제출했습니다.

이같은 예산은
올해보다 5천300억원이 늘어난 것입니다.

부동산 경기 침체 등의 영향으로
취득세가 줄어들 것으로 예상되지만
재정분권 추진에 따라
지방소비세가 늘고
세외수입도 증가할 것으로 예측된데 따른 편성입니다.

분야별로 보면
사회복지분야의 경우
기초연금과 노인일자리분야를 확대하며
역대 최대규모인 1조 2천 600억원을 편성했습니다.

또 국토와 지역개발분야의 경우
장기미집행 도시계획시설의 토지보상에 974억원,
공공질서와 안전분야에는
CCTV 추가 운영과 가로등 증설을 포함해 268억원 등입니다.
