4. Odor complaints from areas near local pig farms reduce
Local officials to continue inspections through November

There has been a slight decrease in the number of odor complaints in areas where pig farms are concentrated in Jeju.

According to the Jeju Municipal Office, there were 860 odor complaints last month, which is a 4.5 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.

Jeju City increased the number of pig farms under odor control from 51 last year to 93 this year. Officials also imposed administrative measures such as license revocation and fines to businesses that exceeded permitted levels of odor and violated manure management regulations.

By the end of this month, local officials plan to conduct a joint inspection with the municipal police on areas reported with high levels of odor.

야간 합동점검을 실시할 계획입니다.
