5. Province to conduct 7th pine wilt control through next April
Officials to remove 99,000 pines trees

Jeju will conduct the 7th pine wilt disease control through next April.

The province will remove 99,000 pine trees that are predicted to be contaminated during the disease control period and conduct tree injections across 1,500 hectares of pine trees.

To prevent the blight from spreading to Hallasan National Park, local officials will conduct disease control from high altitudes towards the coast.

They will also strengthen onsite-safety education to prevent accidents during this period.

소나무재선충병 7차 방제…9만9천본 제거

제주특별자치도가 소나무재선충병 7차 방제에 나섭니다.

내년 4월까지 이뤄지는 이번 방제기간에
피해목으로 발생될 것으로 예상되는
소나무 9만 9천본을 전량 제거하고
1천 500헥타아르 지역에 대한 예방나무주사를 실시합니다.

특히 한라산국립공원으로의 피해 확산을 막기 위해
고지대에서
해안방향으로 압축방제를 실시한다는 계획입니다.

제주도는 이 기간에
사고가 발생하지 않도록
현장 안전교육을 강화한다는 방침입니다.
