Province to provide self-assessment system from next January

Building owners will soon be able self-assess seismic performance of their buildings

The province is working to create a system for building owners to self assess the seismic performance of their buildings. This system is also being created in several parts of the country, including Seoul. Local officials plan to make the system available for public use from next January.

The system will provide the owner with information on whether the building is earthquake proof based on the building registration certificate.

Meanwhile, there are about 60,000 buildings in Jeju that need to be earthquake-resistant, but only 33% of them are earthquake proof.

해당 건축물에 대한 내진 성능을 스스로 점검할 수 있게 됩니다.

제주특별자치도는
서울 등 일부지역에서 시행하고 있는
건축물 내진성능 자가 점검 시스템을 구축해
내년 1월부터 보급합니다.

이 시스템은
건축물 대장을 통해
내진 성능이 확보돼 있는지
건축주에게 정보를 제공하게 됩니다.

한편 제주지역에
내진 설계가 필요한 건축물은 6만여 동에 이르지만
성능이 반영된 곳은 2만여 동으로 33%에 그치고 있습니다.
