4. Standing committee passes revised Casino License Ordinance
Revision bill changed to reflect business’s impact on local community

The provincial council’s standing committee passed the ordinance amendment on the Casino License Policy.

The provincial council’s Culture, Tourism and Sports Committee passed the revision bill submitted by the provincial government during is regular session held last Friday.

The revised bill stipulates that a casino business must perform an industry impact assessment if it is applying to expand its operate site by more than twice through newly applying for a casino license or relocating its business site to a larger area.

The committee, however, made some changes the evaluation criteria of the impact assessment to reflect the business’s impact on the local economy, environment and community.
