3. Local farms to produce about 490K tons of outdoor-grown mandarins
Yield decline caused by rainy spell, typhoon and fallen fruit

This year’s yield of outdoor-grown mandarin oranges is expected to be around 490 thousand tons.

This prediction was made on the basis of the 3rd survey on 400 local mandarin orange orchards conducted by the mandarin observation committee and Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services. The expected yield of this survey is 36 thousand ton less than that of the 2nd survey conducted this August.

Officials explained that fallen fruit and the rainy spell and typhoon this autumn caused the decline.

By region, farms in Jeju City and Seogwipo City produced 140,000 tons and 352,000 tons, respectively.

올해산 노지감귤은

제주도 감귤관측조사위원회는
400여군데의 감귤원을 대상으로 3차 관측조사를 벌인결과
지난 8월 2차 관측에 비해
3만 6천톤 줄어들 것으로 예측됐다고 밝혔습니다.

생산량이 줄어든 것은 잇따른 가을장마와 태풍,
그리고 낙과 등의 원인으로 분석되고 있습니다.

생산량을 지역별로 보면
제주시 지역이 14만톤, 서귀포시 35만 2천톤 입니다.
