2. Prosecutors prepare standards for handling environmental crimes
Officials to impose harsher punishment on repeated violators

The Jeju District Prosecutors' Office established regulations and standards on how to handle cases involving environmental crimes in Jeju.

The local prosecutors office set standards for crimes such as trading unauthorized preserved resources, conducting restricted behavior in preserved areas, developing unauthorized underground water and releasing sewage underground.

The newly set regulations stipulate that repeated violators of selling or taking unauthorized preserved resources such as natural minerals and those selling them at a very expensive price will be additionally punished.

In addition, the degree of punishment against violators who install unsolicited livestock manure facilities in temples and other conservation areas will differ based on the magnitude of environmental impact on the affected area.

제주 환경범죄에 대한 사건 처리 기준을 마련했습니다.

사건 처리 기준이 마련된 범죄는
무허가 보존자원 매매와
절·상대 또는 관리보전지역에서의 행위 제한 위반,
무허가 지하수 개발, 오폐수 지하 유입 등 입니다.

주요내용을 보면
자연석 등 무허가 보존자원 매매나 반출 범죄의 경우
재범 이상이거나 판매 가격이 높을 경우
가중 요소로 고려해 처벌 수위를 강화합니다.

또 절·상대 보전지역과
관리보전지역에서의 미신고 가축분뇨시설 설치 범행은
숨골이나 곶자왈 등 환경 영향이
큰 장소인지 여부를 처리기준으로 적용합니다.
