3.Direct transaction of mandarin oranges gives more profits to farmers
Institute to help local farmers find cost-efficient business models

Local researchers found that it is much more profitable for local farmers to directly sell mandarin oranges to consumers than selling them through distributors.

According to an analysis of last year's market patterns and profitability of outdoor grown mandarin oranges conducted by the Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services, farmers sold 1.07 million won per 10 ares, which is 370,000 won higher than sales made through distributors.

Although direct marketing puts farmers under more workload as they have to manage fruit packaging, logistics and promotions, the study found that F2C sales ensure higher profitability for farmers.

The institute plans to continue searching for business models that can help farmers to independently operate their businesses cost efficiently.

지난해산 노지감귤 거래형태와 수익성을 분석한 결과
소비자와 직거래했을 경우 10아르당 107만원으로
중간상인을 거쳤을 때의
70만원에 비해 30만원 가량 높은 것으로 나타났습니다.

홍보와 판촉, 배송관리,
선별.포장 등 경영비의 경우
농가 스스로 해야 한다는 부담이 크지만
전체적인 수익면에서는
직거래가 높은 것으로 분석됐습니다.

농업기술원은
직거래 농가들의 효율적인 비용 투입과
경영비 절감을 위한 사업발굴을 지속적으로 추진한다는 계획입니다.
