1. Jeju Coast Guard finds 2 bodies in waters off Marado
Officials to conduct autopsy for identity confirmation

The Jeju Coast Guard found two bodies assumed to be that of the missing crew members of Daeseong-ho. Daeseong-ho is a fishing boat that sank in the waters off Chagui-do Island after a deadly fire broke out and tore down the ship in half.

The local coast guard discovered the bodies in the waters off Mara-do Island about 50 meters away from an object believed to be the bow of the sunken ship on Sunday. The bodies were each successfully recovered on Sunday night and Monday afternoon.

An autopsy confirmed that the body that was recovered on Sunday belongs to the 33 year-old Vietnamese crew member. Officials will return the body to the bereaved family with cooperation from the Embassy of Vietnam.

They will also conduct an autopsy on the other remaining body that was recovered on the 9th.

대성호 실종 선원으로 추정되는 시신 2구가 모두 인양됐습니다.

제주해양경찰청은
8일 마라도 해상에서 발견된 시신 2구를
8일 밤에 이어
9일 오후까지 모두 인양하는데 성공했습니다.

이번에 발견된 시신은
대성호 선수로 추정되는 물체로부터 50m 인근에서 발견됐습니다.

제주지방해양경찰청은
발견한 시신 두 구 가운데 한 구의 DNA를 분석해
대성호의 33살 베트남 선원 N 모씨라는 사실을 확인했습니다.

이에 따라 해경은
베트남 대사관을 통해
시신을 가족에게 인계할 예정입니다.

해경은
또 다른 시신 역시
부검을 진행하고 DNA 분석을 통해 신원과 사인을 밝힐 예정입니다.
