5. Electoral roll for Jeju Sports Council Chair Election finalized
Controversy brews over fairness of vote allocation

The electoral roll for next year’s vote for the Jeju Sports Council Chairman has been finalized yesterday.

The election commission of the sports council set a total of 207 electors for the election. It allocated 120 voters to its member organizations and a total of 87 voters to the sports councils in Jeju City and Seogwipo City.

However, controversy is brewing over the fact that 33 out of 87 electors allocated to Jeju City and Seogwipo City Sports Councils are community leaders of eup, myeon and dong administrative districts. Some council members are arguing that this allocation of voters will poorly reflect the voice of member organizations.

제주도체육회 선거관리위원회는
종목단체에 120명, 제주시와 서귀포시체육회에

모두 207명의 선거인 수를 확정해 발표했습니다.

하지만 시체육회에 배정된 선거인 87명 중 33명이 읍,면,동장으로
공무원들이 대거 투표권을 행사하게 돼 논란을 키우고 있습니다.
