4. 2020 local garlic contract price set at ￦2,500/Kg
700 won gap between farmer’s desired price

Next year’s contract price of locally produced garlic has been set at 2,500 won per kg. This is 500 won lower than this year’s price.

The local garlic cooperatives, comprised of representatives of National Agricultural Cooperative Federation in Jeju, held a meeting and set the next year’s local garlic contract price at 2,500 won per kg. This is lower than what local farmers wanted at 3,200 won per kg.

Local agricultural federation’s representatives said that they cannot set the price higher due to the current management crisis and the remaining garlic reserves in their storage.

The final purchase price of local garlic will be determined next May.

내년도 마늘 수매계약단가를 kg당 2천 500원으로 결정했습니다.

지난해 3천 원보다 낮고
농민들이 요구한 생산단가 수준인 3천 200원보다도 낮은 금액입니다.

지역농협은 경영상 어려움과 함께
올해산 마늘 재고량도 남아 있어
가격을 높게 책정할 수 없었다는 입장으로 알려졌습니다.

제주산 마늘의 최종 수매가격은 내년 5월에 결정될 예정입니다.
