Health officials advise public to receive vaccination

Health officials are warning the public against the increasing number of influenza patients across the country.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), the number of suspected influenza patients increased to 19.5 per 1,000 outpatients since the center issued an alert against the influenza pandemic last month.

Health officials are urging people, especially pregnant women and children, to receive vaccination within this month.

In addition, they are advising people to take extra care of personal hygiene by washing hands regularly and adhering to the respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette.

인플루엔자 환자 증가…예방접종 필요

최근 전국적으로 인플루엔자 환자가 늘면서
주의가 요구되고 있습니다.

질병관리본부에 따르면
지난달 인플루엔자 유행주의보가 발령된 이후
유사증상 환자가 지속적으로 증가해
지난주에는 외래환자 1천명당 19.5명까지 늘었습니다.

이에따라 보건당국은
인플루엔자 예방접종을 받도록 권고하고
특히 임산부와 어린이는
이달 안에 예방접종을 완료할 것을 당부했습니다.

이와함께
손씻기와 기침예절을 지키는 등
개인위생 관리에도 신경써야 한다고 강조했습니다.
