1. Jeju Coast Guard ends search for missing crew members
9 bodies from sunken ship ‘Daeseong-ho’ remain missing

The Jeju Coast Guard ended its intensive search for the missing crew members of ‘Daeseong-ho’ yesterday morning, which was carried out for 28 days.

Officials managed to recover the bodies of two vietnamese sailors and sent them back to their bereaved families. However, nine bodies still remain unfound although the local coast guard performed six underwater searches using unmanned underwater probes.

Now the local coast guard will collaborate with the Jeju Municipal Police Agency and take turns searching for the missing bodies.

Due to a deadly fire outbreak, Daeseong-ho sunk in the waters 76km west of Chagui-do Island on November 19th. The local coast guard have confirmed three deaths and nine missing bodies.

대성호 집중 수색 28일만에 종료

대성호 사고가 난 지 28일 만에
실종 선원에 대한 집중 수색이 17일 오전으로 마무리됐습니다.

제주지방해양경찰청은
한달간의 수색을 통해 실종된 대성호 선원 11명 가운데
베트남 선원 시신 2구를 발견해 가족들에게 인양했으며

무인수중탐사기를 투입해 6차례의 수중 탐색을 진행했지만
이렇다할 성과를 거두지 못했습니다.

이에 따라
대성호 사고 관련 집중 수색을 종료하고
경비 병행 수색으로 전환한다고 밝혔습니다.

대성호는 지난달 19일 차귀도 서쪽 76km 해상에서 불이 나
3명이 숨지고
선원 9명이 실종됐습니다.
