3. Seoul to fund mandarin orange supply control
Prices of locally produced mandarins remain sluggish this year

Seoul will support the province’s efforts to control mandarin orange supply.

According to the province, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will provide one billion won of state funds to subsidize costs incurring from purchasing the fruits for supply control.

The province has been buying 20,000 tons of large-sized mandarins with a diameter between 67 to 71 mm and 30,000 tons of small mandarin oranges with a diameter between 45mm to 49mm due to the price plunge of the fruit. The local government will use the fruits to make processed goods.

Meanwhile, the average price of mandarin oranges are remaining at around 6,000 won, which is much lower than last year’s price at between 8,000 won and 9,000 won.

농림축산식품부가 국비로 지원하기로
결정했다고 밝혔습니다.

앞서 제주도는 감귤 수급조절을 위해
2L(투 라지) 사이즈 감귤 2만톤과
소과 3만톤을 시장에서 격리해 가공용으로 처리하기로 했습니다.

한편 최근 도매시장 노지감귤 평균 가격은 5kg에 6천 원 정도로
지난해 같은 기간 8천 원 대보다 낮게 거래되고 있습니다.
