5. POE apologizes for invited lecturer's hate speech
Officials promise thorough selection process in the future

The Provincial Office of Education recently expressed regret over the hate speech made by an invited lecturer at an event for parents at a local elementary school.

The office released a statement last Friday and said they regret that the instructor mentioned sex related issues in an opinionated and hateful way.

They also added that they will exclude the instructor from carrying out lectures in the future and that they will thoroughly manage topics, content and instructors.

초청 강사의 혐오 발언에 대해 유감의 뜻을 표명했습니다.

교육청은 20일 입장문을 통해
해당 강사로부터 성에 대한 혐오적인 내용이 언급된 것에 대해
유감을 표한다고 밝혔습니다

또 물의를 일으킨 강사에 대해서는
앞으로 강의에서 배제하고
강사 선정부터 주제와 내용에 대한 관리도 철저히 하겠다고 덧붙였습니다.
