2. Seoul grants special amnesty to 2 Gangjeong residents
Total of 5,100 people who caused social conflict pardoned today

Two Gangjeong villagers that have been indicted during the dispute over the construction of a Navy base in Jeju has been granted special amnesty.

Seoul specially pardoned 5,100 people today, including those involved in social conflict, ahead of the New Year.

In Jeju, one Gangjeong villager that received a suspension has been granted amnesty. Another villager who was fined less than two years ago will be reinstated.

19 gangjeong villagers were also pardoned this February when Seoul granted special amnesty in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Korean independence movement.

제주에서는
해군기지 건설 과정에 집행유예 선고를 받은 1명이 특별사면되고,
벌금 선고 이후
2년이 지나지 않은
또 다른 1명은 복권됩니다.

앞서 3.1절 100주년을 맞아
지난 2월 단행된 특별사면에서
강정주민 19명이 포함된 바 있습니다.
