5. Jeju ranks ‘last’ nationwide for health checkup recipients
Local obesity rate on the rise

Jeju ranked the lowest rate of people receiving medical checkups in the country with only 72 percent.

According to the National Health Insurance Service, only 72.3 percent out of 235,800 islanders people that were eligible for check ups received examinations.

This is the lowest level among 17 cities and provinces in the country.

Health checkups have shown that the obesity rates for both men and women are continuously rising in Jeju.

제주가 건강검진을 받지 않은 비율이 전국에서 가장 높은 것으로
나타났습니다.

국민건강보험공단에 따르면
지난해 제주지역 일반건강검진 대상자는 23만5천8백여 명으로
이가운데 72.3%인 17만4백여명 만 검사를 받은 것으로 나타났습니다.

이는 전국 17개 시도 가운데 가장 낮은 수준입니다.

건강 검진 결과 비만율은 남녀 모두 꾸준히 증가하는 것으로
조사됐습니다.
