1. National New Year's special pardon announced on New Year’s Eve
Includes 82 Jeju fishermen convicted of minor offenses

The national government's New Year's pardon this year included 82 small-scale fishermen of Jeju province.

The 82 who were granted special pardons were fishermen who had failed to make lawful reports of ship safety at ports of entry between October 2017 and September 2018.

The special pardon excluded felons who had violated fisheries resources and food safety laws, such as unauthorized fishing, violation of prohibited areas, and use of harmful drugs.

The Jeju provincial government plans to notify each excused individual when the pardoning process is complete.

이번에 특별사면을 받은 82명은
2017년 10월부터 지난 9월까지
선박안전 조업규칙의
출입항 신고의무를 위반한 생계형 법령위반 어민들입니다.

다만 무허가 조업이나 조업금지구역 위반,
유해약품 사용 등
수산자원이나
식품안전을 저해한 중대사범은
이번 특사에서 제외됐습니다.

제주도는
사면 대상 어민들에 대해서는
행정처분대장 정리 등의 후속조치를 마치면
각 개인에게 통보할 계획입니다.
