5. EV charging station discounts to be scaled-back
Full price will be charged starting July 2020

Discounts on electric vehicle charging stations will be reduced gradually starting July of this year.

According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), the current benefits for using charging stations will remain the same through June. Currently, electric vehicles are exempt from basic charges and receive a 50% discount on charging fees.

Starting July, the discount rate will gradually be reduced over a period of 2 years and no discount will be applied starting July 2022.

The total amount of discounts accrued has been estimated at 33 billion won.

2020년 7월부터
전기차 충전요금 할인 혜택이 단계적으로 줄어듭니다.

산업통상자원부와 한국전력에 따르면,
현재 기본료 면제와
전력 사용요금의 50%를 감면하는
전기차 충전요금 할인 혜택이
6월까지만 적용됩니다.

7월부터
1년마다 할인율이 줄게되며
2022년 7월에는 요금 할인이 폐지됩니다.

한편 올해 민간전기차 충전기 요금 할인액은
330억 원으로 추산됩니다.
