5. KEPCO takes over power generator facilities on Marado Island
Final agreement made with Seogwipo City on Dec 17

The Seogwipo City Municipal Office has announced that a facility transfer agreement has been reached between the municipal office and KEPCO on December 17th. The agreement stipulates that KEPCO will take over management of the power generation facilities on Marado Island to ensure a stable supply of electricity.

Marado Island currently consumes 91% of the electricity generated by the facilities. Electricity usage is consistently rising every year due to the large number of tourists and the increasing usage of air conditioners and heaters.

마라도 발전소, 올해부터 한전이 운영

올해부터 한국전력공사가 마라도 발전소 시설을 운영하게 됩니다.

서귀포시는
안정적인 전기 공급을 위해
한전과 발전시설 이관을 위한 업무협약을 진행해오다
지난달 17일 양도·양수 계약이 체결됐다고
밝혔습니다.

이에 따라
한전은 이달부터 마라도 발전시설 운영을 맡게됐습니다.

현재 마라도내 전력수급은
발전량 대비 91%에 이르고 있으며
관광객과 냉난방기 수요 증가에 따라
매년 전력수요가 급증하고 있는 실정입니다.
