4. Province implements plan for tangerine orchard thinning
Project will cover 220 hectares, cost ￦450M

The provincial government is pushing ahead with tangerine tree thinning, as a part of the tangerine orchard maintenance project.

The project to thin orchards by half will cost 450 million won, and the total area subject to thinning will be 220 hectares, or 1.5 percent of outdoor orchards.

The project also includes providing pruning services to tangerine farmers with less than 0.5 hectares of land.

Applications for the service can be made at the local National Agricultural Cooperative Federation and the district administrative office where the tangerine orchard is located.
