Revised election act lowers voting age to 18
More than 2,000 18-year-old voters is expected to participate in this year’s National Assembly Election that will be held on April 15th.
Following a revision of the Public Official Election Act, the minimum voting age has been lowered from 19 to 18 years of age.
The Provincial Office of Education has said that 1,900 high school students born before April 16, 2002 are eligible to vote in this year’s National Assembly Election.
The total number of voters who are aged 18 is expected to surpass 2,000 after taking into account individuals who are not currently enrolled in the school system.

이번 총선에서 새로 선거권을 갖게 된
2002년 4월 16일 이전 출생한 고등학생은
1천 900여 명으로 추산되고 있습니다.
여기에 학교 밖 청소년을 더하면
만 18살 유권자 수는
2천명을 넘을 것으로 예상됩니다.
