1. National territorial plan includes Jeju’s 2nd airport and sea ports
New transportation methods and marine system specified

The national government's 5th Comprehensive National Territorial Plan on the development of free international cities and the establishment of transportation infrastructure included the construction of Jeju’s second airport and new sea ports on the island.

The plan also included establishing a transportation linkage system within the Jeju areas, introducing new transportation methods, and creating a marine logistics system connecting Jeju to more provinces.

The formation of blockchains and special zones for electric vehicles in Jeju were revised, and Smart city implementation based on public-private cooperation through the big data center was specified.

A review for the development of Jeju Island as an eco-friendly capital of Northeast Asia and the introduction of the Jeju Environmental Resources System (??) were also reflected in the comprehensive national plan.

Under the plan, Jeju will begin the basic urban planning by 2040.

제주의 미래산업으로
블록체인과 전기차 특구 조성 검토,
빅데이터센터를 통한
민관 협력 기반 스마트시티 구현이 명시되기도 했습니다.

이와 함께 제주도를 동북아 환경수도로의 조성 검토와
제주환경자원총량제 도입 또한 이번 국토종합계획에 반영됐습니다.

제주도는 이번 국토종합계획 수립에 따라
오는 2040년까지의
도시기본계획 수립 용역에 착수할 예정입니다.
