1. Korea CDC warns of an outbreak of influenza virus
Number of patients peaks at 50 per 1,000 outpatients

Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning that the flu virus is spreading rapidly, with a stark increase of patients suffering from the virus since the end of last year.

The center reported that the number of suspected flu patients peaked at 50 per 1,000 outpatients. This is eight times higher than the criteria for issuing an influenza alert.

Korea CDC is encouraging people who are particularly at risk, including pregnant women, children aged between 6 months to 12 years and seniors over 60 to get vaccinated for the flu.

지난 해 말부터
인플루엔자 의심환자가 급증하면서
건강관리에 주의가 필요합니다.

질병관리본부는
지난해 말, 독감 의심환자 수는
외래환자 1천 명당 50명으로
인플루엔자 유행주의보 발령 기준보다
8배 이상 급증했다고 밝혔습니다.

이에 따라
면역력인 약한 임신부와 생후 6개월에서 12살 어린이,
그리고 만 60살 이상 어르신은
반드시 예방접종을 받으야 한다고 당부했습니다.
