Speed limit decreases by 20km/h, parking fines increase by \40K


The speed limit in Children Protection Zones across the nation will be lowered by 20 km per hour.

Seoul has announced new measures to reinforce safety in school zones, which includes the new speed limit.

The measures stipulate that the speed limit will be lowered to 30 km per hour in school zones and on roads with no sidewalks, the limit will be reduced to 20 km per hour.

Penalties for illegal parking in school zones is also addressed in the measures, with fines increasing from 80,000 won to 120,000 won.

시속 20킬로미터 이하로까지 하향 조정됩니다.

정부는 이 같은 내용을 골자로 한
어린이보호구역 교통안전 강화 대책을 발표했습니다.

새로 발표된 대책으로는
어린이보호구역 내 차량 제한 속도를
시속 30킬로미터 이하로 낮추고
보행공간이 없는 구역은 시속 20㎞ 이하로 더 낮추게 됩니다.

스쿨존 주정차 위반 차량에 대한 과태료도
현행 일반도로의 2배인 8만원에서 3배인 12만원으로
인상할 방침입니다.
