2. Residents oppose construction of Dream Tower sewage system
Fears of pipe damage and release of toxins main factors

Residents of Nohyeong-dong are protesting the construction of the Dream Tower sewage pipe system that is planned to be built under their neighborhoods.

The residents held a press conference at the provincial government office on Wednesday and urged the government to scrap the plan. They claimed that the Dream Tower sewage pipe system will pass through the town and cause damage to the pipe, releasing unhygienic backwater.

Residents claimed that plans for the sewage system were not notified to the residents in advance, and also appealed for the piping system to instead be built under the Nohyeong 5-way intersection.
