5. More number of seniors now eligible for pension
Jeju City to secure \130B for pension funds

The revised National Pension Act was passed by the National Assembly, and the number of seniors who will receive monthly pensions of up to 300,000 won will increase starting this month.

According to the Jeju City Municipal Office, the income criterion for receiving the pension has been expanded from the bottom 20% to the 40% mark. The new number of pension recipients is expected to increase from 40,000 to 43,000 in the city.

The office plans to secure 130 billion won to provide pension funds, which will be systematically dispersed starting this month.

이달부터 월 최대 30만 원의
기초연금을 받는 어르신들이 늘어납니다.

제주시에 따르면
기초연금을 지급하는 소득 기준이
하위 20%에서 40%까지 확대되면서
연금 수혜자가
지난해 4만 명에서 올해 4만 3천명으로 늘어날 전망입니다.

이에따라
올해 기초연금 사업 예산 1천 3백억 원을 확보해
이달부터 순차적으로 지급할 예정입니다.
