1. Democratic Party officially confirms gap election district
15 districts selected as strategic nomination regions

The Democratic Party of Korea has confirmed Jeju's gap (갑) election districts as a part of the strategic nomination regions.

Leaders of the Democratic Party held a closed-door meeting on the 17th and confirmed that a total of 15 districts, including the 13 selected by the Strategic Nomination Management Committee, has been selected as strategic nomination regions.

Jeju's gap (갑) election districts were included as most of the local constituencies did not have active running candidates.

The nomination committee plans to select eligible candidates starting this week.

제주시 갑 지역구를 전략공천 지역으로 확정했습니다.

민주당 지도부는 17일 비공개 최고위원회의를 갖고
전략공천관리위원회에서 선정한 13곳을 포함한
모두 15곳의 선거구에 대해
전략공천 지역으로 확정해 발표했습니다.

대부분 현역 의원 불출마 지역구로
제주시 갑 선거구도 포함됐습니다.

이에따라 민주당 공천관리위원회는
다음주부터 후보를 공모한 후
순차적으로 대상자를 결정할 방침입니다.
