3. 4·3 Incident memorial ceremony garners national interest
Slogan competition receives record number of applicants

The April 3rd memorial service is receiving increased national interest.

The provincial government has received 566 slogans through a nationwide contest launched in December to commemorate April 3rd victims, which is 150 more pieces submitted last year.

There are 430 out-of-province applications, which is more than three times the applications from within the province.

The best slogans that were nominated from the contest are "Pain into healing, April 3rd into the future, the world towards peace" and "Stay together! The spirit of April 3rd. Experience together! Peace and Human Rights."

4·3 희생자 추념식에 대한 전국적 관심이 높습니다.

제주특별자치도가 지난달 중순부터 최근까지
전국적으로
4·3 희생자 추념식 슬로건을 공모한 결과
566건이 접수돼
지난해보다 150건 이상 늘었습니다.

특히 도외 접수건이 430건으로
도내 130건에 비해
세배 이상 많아 눈길을 끌었습니다.

그동안 4·3 전국화의 노력이
조금씩 성과를 거두는 것으로 분석되고 있습니다.

한편 이번 공모에서 우수작에는
'아픔을 치유로, 4·3을 미래로, 세상을 평화로' 와
'함께해요! 4·3 정신, 느껴봐요! 평화인권'이 선정됐습니다.
