Expansion of infrastructure for bio and cosmetics businesses
Province invests ￦20B for industrialization center

The infrastructure for bio and cosmetics industries that are using clean resources from Jeju Island will be expanded.

The Jeju provincial government says the center for industrialization of clean cosmetics resources began in December with an investment of 20 billion won and is under construction for completion in September of this year.

The Subtropical Microbiological Resource Industrialization Support Center has also been selected as a regional hub project by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and is currently working on the construction project with a budget of 18 billion won.

In addition to the construction of the center, various state-of-the-art research equipment and support for the development of functional materials will be conducted.


3. 청정 자원 활용 바이오·화장품 사업 확대

제주 청정자원을 활용한
바이오, 화장품 산업 인프라가 확대됩니다.

제주도는 200억 원이 투입된
청정자원 화장품원료 산업화 지원센터가
지난해 12월 착공해
올해 9월 완공을 목표로 공사가 진행중이라고 밝혔습니다.

또 유용 아열대 미생물 자원 산업화 지원센터 역시
산업통상자원부 지역거점 사업으로 선정돼
180억 원의 예산을 들여 구축사업을 진행중입니다.

센터 건립 외에도
각종 첨단 연구 장비 보강과
기능성 소재개발 지원이 이뤄질 예정입니다.
