4. POE makes survival swimming training mandatory
Elementary school students to be main recipients

The Jeju Provincial Office of Education has made it mandatory for all elementary school students to receive survival swimming lessons starting this year.

Last year, 20,200 elementary school students participated in the swim training program, an increase of 4,000 students from the previous year.

In preparation for the new program, the office of education is planning to construct pool facilities in schools, as well as offer support to middle and high schools that request their own training programs.

4. 올해부터 초등학생 생존수영 교육 의무화 (번역가)

올해부터 제주도내 모든 초등학생들이 생존수영 교육을
받게됩니다.

제주도교육청은
올해부터 도내 모든 초등학생을 대상으로
생존수영 교육을 의무적으로 실시할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.

지난해 초등학생 생존수영 교육에는
전년보다 4천명 늘어난 2만200여명이 참여했습니다.

교육청은 학교 수영장을 추가 시설하는 한편
특수학교와 생존수영 교육을 희망하는 중.고등학교에 대해서도
교육을 지원합니다.
