The island's tallest building, the Dream Tower, is expected to be complete by March.
Local residents and merchants have expressed their concerns about traffic in the area, and the sewage treatment plan for the building is also under scrutiny.

The island’s highest building, Dream Tower, is rising up at the center of Jeju City.
It has twin buildings with 38 floors above the ground.
A hotel and a shopping mall will be housed in the tower.

5,000 tons of sewage is expected to be discharged from the building every day.
Among them, 2,200 tons will be sent to (도두) Dodu Sewage Treatment Plant.

The problem is that the sewage treatment plant is fast reaching its capacity.
Wastewater will overflow very soon after the building is completed.
Sewage backup and wastewater discharge that already happen frequently can be more frequent.

Residents in (원노형) Won-nohyeong where the sanitary sewer passes strongly oppose the twin tower developer's plans for the sanitary sewer.

Thousands of tons of wastewater cannot flow to the Dodu Sewage Treatment Plant through 200-300mm pipes without problems. If sewage overflows, it will be catastrophic to our neighborhood.

200 families in Won-nohyeong ask the Dream Tower developer to change passage of the underground sewer from the residential area to the Nohyeong five-way intersection.

Underground pipes can rupture anytime,just like the sewers near the Myths and History Theme Park. It takes a long time to restore broken pipes and residents will have to suffer from the odor during that time. We cannot accept the current sewer plans.

However, the developer doesn't have plans to change the sewer route.

Traffic congestion is another issue.

During rush hour (노형), 5,500 cars pass the (노형) Nohyeong five-way intersection per hour.
Once the tower opens, 700 additional cars will use the intersection per hour.
