Surveillance camera reveals patient purchasing pain medication

A Chinese woman who recently visited Jeju Island was confirmed to have been infected with the novel coronavirus. The province has also verified that she purchased pain and fever reducers during her stay.

The province traced the woman through surveillance cameras and discovered that she had purchased the medicine on January 24th at a pharmacy on Nuwemaru Street in Yeon-dong, Jeju City.

The pharmacist said that the woman showed her own drug, which was a pain and fever reducer, and asked for a similar one to the one she had.

The province added that she was confirmed to be from Wuhan and came to the island via Yangzhou.

The government is currently tracking down people who had contact with her, including people who were on the same flight, and has also temporarily closed the pharmacy where she purchased the medicine.

제주특별자치도는
확진 판정을 받은 중국인 관광객 딸의 진술을 토대로
CCTV와 방문조사를 벌이던 중
지난달 24일
제주시 연동 누웨마루거리 모 약국에서
해열진통제를 구입한 것으로 확인했다고 밝혔습니다.

이후 해당 약사와의 면담을 통해
해당 중국인은
약국에 들어온 뒤 가지고 있던 약을 보여줬고
해당 약을 확인해 본 결과 해열진통제였다며
비슷한 성분의 약을 구입했다는 진술을 확보했다고 덧붙혔습니다.

특히 확진판정을 받은 중국인이 우한 출신으로 확인했다며
중국 우한에서 양저우를 거쳐
제주에 입도한 사실을 추가 확인했다고 설명했습니다.

이에 따라 제주도는
이미 이 중국인이 기침과 가래 등의 유사 증세가
있었을 수 있다고 보고
접촉했던 사람들을 찾고 있습니다.

또 해당 약국에 대해서는 임시 휴업 조치를 취했습니다.
