2. Jeju Island digs into emergency reserve to impede coronavirus
\6.3B budget approved for more manpower, equipment

Jeju Island is using emergency reserve funds to secure manpower and purchase response equipment to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

The budget, which includes the Disaster Management Fund, will amount to about 6.3 billion won, and will be used to purchase portable X-rays, reagents tests and quarantine equipment.

The province is planning to secure the additional budget from events and festivals that have been canceled due to the coronavirus crisis and from reductions in subsidies.
