5. Government to shut down 5 museums
Decisions to be carried out by court hearings

Businesses that are officially registered as museums but operating as other types of facilities will be officially shut down.

The provincial government stated that court hearings will be conducted to cancel the registration of five museum facilities registered in Beophwan-dong, Seogwipo City, and Aewol-eup.

These facilities have been confirmed to be closed because they do not have an actual museum on their registered property or because they have not maintained registration requirements.

The government makes regular checks on 62 private museums registered in the province every year. Five museums were shut down in 2017 for failing to fulfill museum registration requirements.

제주도는 도내 등록된 사립 박물관 62곳에 대해
매년 점검하고 있으며
지난 2017년에도 5군데가
등록 요건에 미달돼 등록 취소된 바 있습니다.
