1. Number of visitors to Jeju decreases by 74%
Number of Chinese tourists fall by 90%

The number of tourists visiting Jeju has decreased by 70% after the suspension of the visa waiver program. The program was put on hold to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

According to the Ministry of Justice, approximately 8,600 visitors traveled to Jeju from February 1st to the 11th. This is a 73.6% decrease compared to the same period last year.

No tourists arrived on the island without a visa after the suspension was initiated.

Chinese tourists averaged about 100 per day after the suspension. This is more than a 90% decrease compared to last year.

제주 입국자가 70% 넘게 줄었습니다.

법무부가 외국인 입국제한 조치를 분석한 결과
지난 1일부터 11일까지
제주를 통한 입국자 수는 8천 600여 명으로
지난해 같은기간보다 73.6% 감소했습니다.

특히 무사증 입국을 일시정지한 이후
사증 없이 제주에 입국한 사례는 한 건도 없었습니다.

한편 무사증 일시정지로 제주에는 중국인이
하루 100명 남짓 입국하고 있으며
이는 지난해보다 90% 넘게 줄어든 것입니다.
