5. Prices of local houses continues to decline
Housing market shows no signs of recovery

Residential housing values on the island are continuing to drop.

According to the Jeju branch of the Bank of Korea, the prices of local houses decreased by 0.3% last month compared to the month before.

Just two months ago in December, the price drop was even more steep at 0.4%.

Construction sites and the issuance of building permits decreased last month by 38% and 4%, respectively, showing signs of a sluggish local housing market.

지난달 도내 주택매매가격은
전달보다 0.3% 하락했습니다.

지난해 12월 역시
주택매매가 하락폭은 0.4%를 기록했습니다.

지난달 건축 착공과 허가 면적도
전년 동기대비 각각 38%, 4%씩 감소하는 등
부동산 경기 침체가 장기화되고 있습니다.
