1. Emergency meeting of leaders held to discuss COVID-19
Guideline of protocols discussed and released

A meeting of government and university leaders was held on the afternoon of the 24th to establish a cooperative system to battle the COVID-19 outbreak.

The meeting was attended by National Assembly Speaker Kim Tae-seok (김태석), provincial education superintendent Lee Seok-moon (이석문), and Jeju National University president Song Seok-eon (송석언), amongst others. A guideline of protocols for the systematic prevention and response to the virus was discussed.

The provincial government also requested that organizations refrain from renting out public facilities and organizing events.

President Song Seok-eon of JNU made a special appeal for active support from the province to help manage the 35 percent of students who are from outside Jeju province.

이 자리에서 제주도는 각 기관에 행사는 물론
공공시설 대관 자제를 요청했습니다.

이 자리에서 송석언 제주대총장은
제주 외 다른 지역의 학생이 35% 정도인데
이들에 대한 관리 대책이 시급한 실정이라며
제주도 차원의 적극적인 지원을 요청하기도 했습니다.
