2. Demand for COVID-19 testing soars
Province expands testing facilities and personnel

The Jeju provincial government is drastically increasing inspection centers and manpower due to increased demand for COVID-19 infection tests.

The screening process for the infection tests has been conducted only at seven existing selected medical centers, but six more health centers have been added since the 27th.

The province is also ramping up personnel and has completed training for 37 more health workers.

The Jeju Health and Environment Institute, which analyzes test results, has also hired 4 more technicians and acquired an additional genetic extractor.

The institute will now be able to handle up to 100 cases a day.

인력을 대폭 늘리고 있습니다.

그동안 가검물 채취는
기존 선별진료소 7군데에서만 이뤄졌지만
27일부터
도내 보건소 6개소를 추가해 진행하고 있습니다.

이에 앞서 제주도는
보건소 인력 37명에 대해
가검물 채취 방법과
개인보호구 사용 등 관련 교육을 마무리했습니다.

또 감염 유무를 분석하는 제주도보건환경연구원에 대해서도
검사지원 예비인력 4명을 투입해
하루 최대 100명분을 소화할 수 있게 됐습니다.

이와 함께 진단 분석 장비인
'유전자 추출기' 1대를 추가 구입해 대응하고 있습니다.
